Windows XP Media Center Edition (codename eHome) is a version of Windows XP designed to serve as a home entertainment hub.The latest version, Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, was released on October 12, 2004.
Windows XP Media Center Edition (XP MCE) is distinguished from other versions of Windows XP by an exclusive preinstalled application, Media Center, which provides a large-font ("10-foot"), remote accessible interface for TV recording and playback, DVD playback, video playback, photo viewing, and music playback.
Due to strict hardware requirements, Microsoft has opted not to sell Media Center as an independent retail version. Microsoft only distributes it to MSDN subscribers and OEM System Builders in certain countries. Consumers generally purchase Media Center preinstalled on a new computer, or from a reseller that sells OEM versions of Microsoft software.
Although Media Center is based on Windows XP Professional, it notably has the ability to join an Active Directory domain disabled. This effectively precludes the use of Media Center in a corporate environment. Media Center still retains most other Windows XP Professional-specific features, such as Remote Desktop and the Encrypting File System.
As of Update Rollup 2, Media Center 2005 supports up to 4 tuners on a single computer (up to two analog tuners, and up to two HDTV turners). It cannot, however, record more than two programs at any one time.Microsoft has released its own first party remote, receiver and IR blaster with MCE 2005. A new specially designed wireless computer keyboard for MCE 2005 was released September 2005.With version 2005, Microsoft has added support for Media Center Extenders—dedicated hardware devices that allow users to view the same content that is available on the MCE computer over wired or wireless Ethernet. Linksys and other companies currently sell Media Center Extenders, and Microsoft sells an add-on kit for the Xbox game console that allows it to function as an extender. The Xbox 360 also has Media Center Extender functionality out of the box, including HDTV support (which is notably absent from current extenders). Media Center 2005 currently can support up to 5 Media Center Extenders per household. Unlike competing commercial PVR products, Media Center does not charge a monthly subscription fee for its TV guide service.
Hardware Requirements:
Media Center has higher hardware requirements than other versions of Windows XP. MCE 2005 requires at least a 1.6 GHz (or equivalent) processor, DirectX 9 hardware-accelerated GPU (such as a recent ATI Radeon or NVIDIA GeForce), and 256 MB of RAM. Some functionality, such as Media Center Extender support, use of multiple tuners, or HDTV playback/recording carries higher system requirements.
Unlike most other software PVR solutions, Media Center is restricted in the range of hardware that it supports. Media Center tuners must have a standardized driver interface, and they must have hardware MPEG-2 encoders, closed caption support, and a number of other features. Media Center remote controls are standardized in terms of button labels and functionality, and, to a degree, general layout.

This is from a HP Restore DVD so there is no serial needed. If you install this on any HP computer you will not need to activate it.

Windows XP Media Center Edition (codename eHome) is a version of Windows XP designed to serve as a home entertainment hub.The latest version, Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, was released on October 12, 2004.
Windows XP Media Center Edition (XP MCE) is distinguished from other versions of Windows XP by an exclusive preinstalled application, Media Center, which provides a large-font ("10-foot"), remote accessible interface for TV recording and playback, DVD playback, video playback, photo viewing, and music playback.
Due to strict hardware requirements, Microsoft has opted not to sell Media Center as an independent retail version. Microsoft only distributes it to MSDN subscribers and OEM System Builders in certain countries. Consumers generally purchase Media Center preinstalled on a new computer, or from a reseller that sells OEM versions of Microsoft software.
Although Media Center is based on Windows XP Professional, it notably has the ability to join an Active Directory domain disabled. This effectively precludes the use of Media Center in a corporate environment. Media Center still retains most other Windows XP Professional-specific features, such as Remote Desktop and the Encrypting File System.
As of Update Rollup 2, Media Center 2005 supports up to 4 tuners on a single computer (up to two analog tuners, and up to two HDTV turners). It cannot, however, record more than two programs at any one time.Microsoft has released its own first party remote, receiver and IR blaster with MCE 2005. A new specially designed wireless computer keyboard for MCE 2005 was released September 2005.With version 2005, Microsoft has added support for Media Center Extenders—dedicated hardware devices that allow users to view the same content that is available on the MCE computer over wired or wireless Ethernet. Linksys and other companies currently sell Media Center Extenders, and Microsoft sells an add-on kit for the Xbox game console that allows it to function as an extender. Hardware Requirements:
Media Center has higher hardware requirements than other versions of Windows XP. MCE 2005 requires at least a 1.6 GHz (or equivalent) processor, DirectX 9 hardware-accelerated GPU (such as a recent ATI Radeon or NVIDIA GeForce), and 256 MB of RAM. Some functionality, such as Media Center Extender support, use of multiple tuners, or HDTV playback/recording carries higher system requirements.
Unlike most other software PVR solutions, Media Center is restricted in the range of hardware that it supports. Media Center tuners must have a standardized driver interface, and they must have hardware MPEG-2 encoders, closed caption support, and a number of other features. Media Center remote controls are standardized in terms of button labels and functionality, and, to a degree, general layout.

Translator XP juga menyediakan beberapa fasilitas yang bersifat pendidikan, yang kami peruntukkan bagi Anda yang ingin mempelajari bahasa Inggris secara lebih mendalam. Fasilitas itu misalnya Kamus yang bisa ditambahkan contoh kalimatnya, Games , dan Text to Voice Converter

Jenis-jenis kata itu adalah
1. Kata keterangan (simbolnya k) :
Contohnya now, yesterday, ago, sekarang, tadi, kemarin, nanti, besok
2. Kata penunjuk (simbolnya t)
Contohnya this, that, those, these, ini, itu
3. Kata benda (simbolnya b)
Contohnya dog, cat, chair, kucing, anjing, meja
4. Kata kerja (simbolnya v)
Contohnya eat, go, come, makan, pergi, datang
5. Kata sifat (simbolnya s)
Contohnya white, red, new, dangerous, putih, berbahaya, baru
6. Kata ganti (simbolnya g)
Contohnya we, you, i, he, kami, kamu, saya, dia
Pemilihan jenis kata yang tepat menentukan keakuratan terjemahan.

Akurasi Hasil
Akurasi hasil penerjemahan Translator XP dapat Anda atur sesuai dengan keinginan Anda. Anda tinggal meng-klik Menu Tool ? Option ? Konversi.

1. Pilihlah Akurasi terjemahan Optimal atau Akurasi terjemahan Normal.
2. Pilihlah Terjemahkan sesuai urutan kata atau Terjemahkan mendekati kaidah bahasa asli
3. Centanglah pilihan Cek idiom jika diperlukan
4. Centanglah pilihan Cek frase jika diperlukan

Tambah kata
Jika Anda ingin menambahkan kata baru ke dalam database. Silahkan klik menu Translator ? Database ? Tambah Kata. Setelah itu ketik kata yang ingin Anda tambahkan (pada field Kata), kemudian ketik juga arti kata tersebut (pada field Arti) dan pilih jenis kata yang sesuai (pada field combobox). Terakhir tekan tombol Tambah.

Tenses
Translator XP mendukung 5 tenses utama yang sering digunakan yaitu Present, Present perfect, Future, Present continue dan Past.
Translator XP juga mendukung penerjemahan kalimat aktif dan pasif untuk pola positif, negatif dan interogatif.
Contoh:

1. Saya membelikan rumah mewah untuk isteri saya = i buy luxurious house for my wife
2. Rumah mewah dibeli saya untuk isteri saya= luxurious house is bought me for my wife
3. Saya baru saja membelikan mobil baru untuk ayah saya=i have just bought new car for my father
4. Rumah paman telah dijual kepada orang kaya itu =uncle house has been sold to that rich person
5. Apakah kita akan pergi untuk mengunjungi teman baik kamu besok= shall we go to visit your good friend tommorow

Untuk penambahan idiom baru ke dalam database. Klik menu Translator ? Database ? Tambah idiom. Setelah itu pada field idiom ketik idiom yang ingin Anda tambahkan (misal nice to meet you). Kemudian pada field arti ketik arti idiom tersebut (misal senang bertemu anda) dan pilih jenis kata yang sesuai (pada field combobox). Terakhir tekan tombol Tambah.

Alternatif Kata
Kebanyakan kata yang ada dalam database memiliki beberapa arti kata misalnya apotek dengan padanan katanya pharmacy atau dispensary.

Jika anda ingin mencari atau menampilkan alternatif arti dari kata yang sudah diterjemahkan ada 2 cara yang dapat dilakukan, Klik Tool ? Option ? Tampilan;

1. Jika anda mengaktifkan option Hanya beri warna untuk alternatif kata

Maka ketika penerjemahan selesai, bloklah arti dari kata hasil terjemahan misal pharmacy (hasil terjemahan dari apotek). Kemudian klik mouse kanan. Jika cara Anda benar, maka secara otomatis Translator XP akan menambahkan menu “Arti lain” yang berisi alternatif arti dari kata tsb (dispensary). Anda juga bisa memberi warna pada alternatif kata ini dengan memilih pilihan warna yang tersedia pada menu Translator ? Option ? tampilan ? warna untuk alternatif kata.

2. Jika anda mengaktifkan option Tampilkan alternatif kata
Secara otomatis Translator XP menampilkan alternatif arti disamping arti utamanya misal pharmacy [dispensary]

Spesifikasi Bahasa

Khusus untuk bahasa Inggris, Translator XP menyediakan penerjemahan menurut spesifikasi bahasa. Secara default ada 2 pilihan yang tersedia yaitu bahasa Inggris Standard dan bahasa Inggris untuk Komputer.

Jika Anda ingin menambahkan spesifikasi Bahasa Inggris yang lain misalnya Inggris untuk teknik atau Inggris untuk Akuntansi, pertama kali aktifkan dulu opsi Aktifkan spesifikasi bahasa inggris pada menu Tool ? Option ? Setting.

Tentang Option
Secara umum ada 3 kategori option yang disediakan yaitu
1. Konversi

Gunakan akurasi terjemahan optimal. Klik opsi ini jika anda ingin proses terjemahan bisa melakukan cek frase

Gunakan akurasi terjemahan normal. Klik opsi ini jika anda ingin proses terjemahan tidak perlu melakukan cek frase
Terjemahkan sesuai urutan kata. Jika anda memilih menu ini maka hasil penerjemahan benar-benar diurutkan sesuai kata yang ada dalam notepad source

Terjemahkan mendekati kaidah bahasa indonesia/bahasa asli. Inilah hasil penerjemahan terbaik yang sebaiknya anda pilih

Cek idiom. Berguna memerintahkan Translator XP untuk mengecek idiom

Cek Frase. Berguna memerintahkan Translator XP untuk mengecek frase

Aktifkan temporary arti. Menu ini juga berfungsi untuk mengaktifkan fasilitas tracking/pencarian asal kata.

Caranya blok salah satu kata hasil terjemahan, kemudian klik mouse kanan. Jika cara anda benar maka akan muncul menu asal kata yang berisi kata asli dari penggalan kata hasil terjemahan tadi.

Aktifkan temporary database. Menu ini untuk mempercepat proses penerjemahan
Alternatif arti. Apakah ingin ditampilkan atau hanya sekedar diberi warna saja

3. Setting

Gunakan microsoft agent. Untuk text to voice converter dengan menggunakan karakter-karakter lucu

Gunakan voice text. Untuk text to voice converter hanya dengan suara. Centang juga opsi ini jika Anda ingin menggunakan text to voice converter dengan bahasa lain seperti Perancis, Belanda, Jerman, Spanyol, dll

Text to Voice Converter
Pilih menu bahasa Inggris kemudian ketik kata/kalimat pada notepad yang tersedia. Setelah selesai tekanlah tombol ucapkan atau pilih menu Run? Ucapkan.

Kata yang tidak perlu diterjemahkan
Jika anda ingin ada kata yang tidak perlu diterjemahkan misalnya nama orang atau istilah populer, cukup tambahkan tanda ^ dibelakang kata yang anda inginkan.
contoh kalimat: Ann Marry will marry with John Fox.
Jika tanpa penambahan ^, kalimat tsb akan diterjemahkan menjadi : ann menikah akan menikah dengan john rubah.
Tapi jika ditambahkan ^ dibelakang kata Marry dan Fox maka kalimat Ann Marry^ will marry with John Fox^ akan diterjemahkan menjadi :
ann marry akan menikah dengan john fox

Selain menterjemahkan B. Inggris Translator XP ini juga bisa menterjemahkan beberapa bahasa, diantaranya:

"Tips Mengubah URL Facebook dengan Username"

Facebook memiliki fitur baru yakni memperbolehkan user untuk register username buatan sendiri untuk pertama kalinya mulai Sabtu (13/06) pukul 12:01 a.m EDT. Berikut beberapa hal yang perlu dipehatikan untuk mengubah username Facebook :

Username Facebook akan diberikan dengan layanan yang pertama kali datang, akan mendapatkan pelayanan pertama. Jika ingin mendapatkan sebuah username, maka user harus bersabar, karena username di URL tidak akan berubah secara langsung setelah username dibuat.Setiap account Facebook hanya boleh memiliki satu username, dan bahkan user tidak bisa mengubahnya lagi setelah sekali dibuat. User tidak bisa mentransfer username ke siapapun, bahkan ketika user menghapus account di Facebook, username tidak akan kembali.
Facebook memang mendorong user untuk memasukkan real name user. Untuk itu, system baru ini masih akan berkutat dengan aturan tersebut, dengan menyarankan beberapa pilihan username yang masih berkaitan dengan first atau last name user. Namun, selain itu juga menyediakan kotak kosong dimana user dapat mengetikkan username yang memang tidak berhubungan dengan real name.
Berharap dapat membuat username seperti contoh “Facebook.com/blogger”? User tidak eprlu mencobanya karena Facebook tidak mengizinkan username dengan ‘kata umum’, seperti “pizza” atau “flower”. Semua term mengenai full list kata yang tidak bisa dipakai juga telah disediakan Facebook.
Username Facebook juga harus memiliki panjang minimal 5 karakter dan hanya mengandung huruf, angka dan period. Jika mencoba username dengan simbol atau karakter khusus seperti $#@% maka dipastikan hanya membuang waktu user.
Facebook hanya memperbolehkan user yang sudah memiliki acount di Facebook, mulai tanggal 9 juni pukul 3 p.m untuk register username di minggu ini. Jejaring sosial mengungkapkan bahwa pre-caution tersebut digunakan untuk mencegah user dari pembuatan nama dengan tujuan menduplikasi nama. Untuk user yang baru akan membuat account Facebook setelah waktu itu, maka user harus menunggu hingga 28 Juni pukul 12:01 am untuk mendapatkan nama baru user.
Untuk pemilik Facebook Pages, seperti perusahaan public, organisasi, atau public figure harus register sebelum tanggal 31 Mei agar bisa menampilkan URL username. Selain itu, Facebook Pages harus memiliki setidaknya 1,000 fans di tanggal 31 Mei untk mendapatkan username.
Facebook menerapkan proteksi atas property intelektual dan trademark rights atau bisa dibaca di website Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/copyright.php?noncopyright _notice=1).

Username Facebook akan segera tampil di URL user (facebook.com/username), tergantung dengan setting privacy user, dan siapa yang dapat melihatnya. Ketika setting profile user dibuat private, maka username juga akan menjadi private walaupun di bagian URL yang baru.
Username Facebook yang sudah dibuat user akan tertampil di URL, dan di kemudian hari Facebook akan memanfaatkan fitur URL dengan username dengan fitur lainnya.
